The core of truth can only be found when it is consciously desired. People believe that the truth is always what seems to be acceptable to them, and since people are willing to accept differently, there should be different truths. But the pure truth remains always and eternally the same. And he who strives for it, cannot walk in error. But when does a man strive for the truth .... when every man thinks to desire nothing else than the truth.
A sure characteristic of the desire for truth is the willing surrender of what man has previously recognized as truth and a willing opening of the heart to receive the truth from above. This shows his will for the pure truth, because he will always recognize a certain lack in all traditions, he will now know well to distinguish human work from what comes directly from above. And if he is only concerned with the pure truth, he must first eliminate everything that is of human origin.
He must keep exactly to the Divine Word received and try as little as possible to make spiritual property of what has been imparted to his fellow men in school. He must remain tremendously consistent, i.e. always let the Word from above speak to him first, before he recognizes the transformed word as truth. He must have a certain security against the opponent, who represents the often changed Word, which does not correspond to Divine will. He must not be satisfied with his intellectual thinking, but always and everywhere take God's advice to help him and therefore always desire the power from God to now recognize the purest truth, and he must be ready to give up his preconceived opinions if they do not agree with what is commanded from above. ....
