To find inner contact with the Divine, is always a consequence of love awakened in man. It is impossible that a man, who has not previously expressed the will through love-work to adjust himself affirmatively to the eternal Godhead, can unite with God. From this it follows that only through love, a union with God can be achieved, that therefore the union with God presupposes having become love. It is furthermore understandable that God, as Love Himself, will be there where true love becomes active. So man feels in a work of love, the presence of Eternal Love as an increased drive to love and a blissful consciousness of power. Purely physically, this is little perceptible - however, the soul feels this unconsciously in inner peace and increased joy of life, which, however, is not valid for earthly interests. It seeks to explore God and infinity ..... Once it has become active in love, it will feel prompted to think about God and spiritual things. For it is the consequence of the love of the heart, that Eternal Love now makes Himself known to man and turns his train of thought to Himself.
And a person feels well in the spiritual atmosphere which now surrounds him. He feels the Divine where He approaches him, he lets himself be seized by the power of Divine Love, he tries to form himself in such a way that he is worthy of this Divine connection, and from now on he remains striving for the salvation of his soul, since he recognizes that man's goal should be the union with God. He does not need to withdraw from the duties of earthly life, but he must be careful to put the work on his soul before earthly striving, then earthly activity is also conducive to the higher development of the soul. If he begins and ends everything with God and only always strives for God-connectedness, all earthly activity will be a blessing for him, because he now consciously serves his fellow man through his earthly work, and he can master this effortlessly, if he only always desires strength from God and constantly practices love.
For now he does everything with God, Who is with him in every work of love. He has detached himself from the kingdom of darkness and has consciously entered the kingdom of light ..... And light always means closeness to God .... Now also his spirit must have awakened, thus the light must be synonymous with knowledge, because God is the wisdom and the love ..... As God as love is connected with man through works of love, wisdom must also communicate itself to man in the same measure. A loving earthly being must be a knowing being at the same time, because if God announces himself to man through love, he does not exclude wisdom, and the one who has connected himself with God through love, will always stand in knowledge .....
