Unspeakably poor is the man to be called, whose attitude lacks all love, because he lacks the knowledge of the highest God-Being, since all Divine in him cannot come to development. In his delusion, he not only sees earthly life in a false light, but he makes his heart completely incapable of receiving Divine wisdom. He closes himself against Divine activity and therefore can never be instructed in the truth. For love is indispensable, it is only the link between man and the teaching forces of the beyond ..... Without love, man does not hear the voice within himself; without love, the spiritual spark cannot be kindled in him; and without love, also any understanding of spiritual truths is impossible.
Man must educate himself to love, and he can do this easily, if he pays less attention to the earthly life and turns to the supersensible. A man who is concerned in his thoughts with the things that lie outside the earthly, will now also look at his fellow man as the same seeking being, and this will trigger a kind of connected feeling in him. He feels the need to exchange his thoughts with him, he wants to communicate them to him and also lead him on the same way, and therefore love starts to unfold in him, and a barrier is torn down, which previously blocked the access to knowledge .....
What man himself recognizes as right, he would like to communicate to the neighbour, and so the need for communication becomes alive in him, his train of thought will also be guided right, because where love is, God Himself is and prevents wrong thought-results. Man should cultivate love, he should carry it as the most precious good in his heart and constantly try to increase it ..... And if he lacks the strength to do so, he should ask for it .... And his life will be rich in spiritual possessions, because love brings him knowledge, which man can otherwise not achieve.
God gives unmeasured wisdom and power, light and strength to the loving people, and they can therefore call themselves abundant, because they are considered by the heavenly Father in the same love .... And thus love can never be eliminated, if man is to be enlightened .... Without love, man remains astray and walks in spiritual night .... But love enlightens and leads to the knowledge of Divine truth ....
