Love ....

Love is life, love is power, love is cause and love is goal. Love is the epitome of all that is divine, for God is love in Himself. Love is furthermore a state of rapture, a state of awareness of power, a state of activity and the most intimate devotion .... Love is the influx of divine strength, therefore a union with God, which can take place in the most varied degrees, therefore never reaches its climax, but constantly takes place more intimately and therefore more powerfully. Where love now reigns, where every activity is dictated by love, the most blissful state must take hold of everything that enters the circuit of love's activity. For love cannot help but trigger happiness, because it transmits the most divine to everything it grasps. However, where the working of love is resisted, love remains ineffective, for everything divine must be accepted willingly, otherwise a state contrary to God would result, a state of compulsion and influence. But to live in love, to be filled with love, is a God-like state and can never be associated with a lack of freedom of will, for everything that opens itself to God receives .... what resists or closes itself off comes away empty handed ....

He who is love in himself also constantly gives out love, but can never stay and give where there is not love as well. Therefore love will always find itself to love. However, where love is missing, there is no life, no light, no strength and no bliss, but spiritual death and darkness. What is, became through love, consequently, where love is not, there must also be a state which is equal to non-being insofar as neither strength nor light flows towards the beingness, it therefore remains in inactivity and darkness .... a state that cannot be called life ....

(6.3.1941) Only love is fulfilment, and where it is not, there is emptiness, misery and torment, for love brings the being into contact with God, and this means a merging of that which was originally one but separated from eternal love. To be far from God means to wander restlessly without realization of its outcome, without knowledge of the glories which grow out of the union with the original power .... to be far from God means to be exposed to all that is impure and lightless and to be hindered and oppressed by it in every way. It means complete powerlessness and lack of will towards these forces .... it means captivity and endless bondage of the will .... And there is no other solvent than love, for it alone provides the being with the strength to liberate itself, it alone gives knowledge and is therefore the path upwards .... For love accomplishes everything, it redeems all that is bound, it strengthens all that is weak, it illuminates the darkness, it helps to overcome and thus weakens the power that previously held the being bound. Love is the divine fluid that completely dissolves all resistance, that is unimaginable in its effectiveness, that therefore nothing can resist. To live in love means to live with God Himself, thus also to be master over all forces of darkness .... But loving with God guarantees eternal light and eternal glory ....
