Belief in life after death .... influence through love of fellow human beings ....

Man's greatest error is to consider himself transient, for this view determines him to a completely wrong way of life. It must be taken into consideration that earthly life is only a means to an end, whereas people who think so wrongly regard earthly life as an end. They try to gain everything from earthly life that it offers but fail to recognize its actual purpose. Anyone who believes that his earthly life ends with bodily death will understandably not endeavour to reshape his nature, for he considers this to be useless and pointless. And thus the actual task of man remains unfulfilled. However, teaching such an unbelieving person to believe in life after death is a difficult task and can only be successful if he can be persuaded to reflect and can then be mentally influenced by beings of light. But a person's love often brings marvellous successes to light, indeed, love is the only means to change wrong thinking. If a person departs from this world who was active in devoted love for an unbelieving person, his thoughts will follow him beyond the grave .... He seeks to maintain the connection with him by trying to imagine the departed person alive .... he now has the will to affirm his continued existence, even if he cannot yet do so inwardly, but then the mental transmissions are much easier to convey to him; at first he plays with them, but slowly he absorbs them and in the end is no longer able to separate himself from them, because he longs for reunion with the deceased loved one. It is not uncommon for unbelieving people on earth to be cared for in love in this way, for the beings of light often bring together people who are very close to each other in love in order to decisively influence their faith through them. If a person is capable of love, i.e., if he can show deep love for a fellow human being, then his state of soul is not hopeless either, his thinking can be directed into completely different directions through this love, for as long as the human being lives on earth he has countless possibilities to achieve realization. The first and most important thing, however, is the belief that the soul lives on after death. Thoughts of an afterlife must determine his entire way of life, and this requires deep faith, which a person can gain through the loving support of a fellow human being if it is not possible otherwise. The beings in the beyond will support all efforts, for they will struggle with patience and love to guide the erring human being into realization ....
