Recognizing the truth .... self-love - love of neighbour ....

A considerable time will pass before humanity's mind will be occupied with thoughts concerning the salvation of the soul. Everything spiritual is still a concept of the improbable for them, they are not yet willing to surrender their earthly interests. And self-love is an obstacle to recognizing what is most important in earthly life .... the soul's higher development. The degree of love is decisive for recognizing the truth. However, anyone who loves himself more than his neighbour is still a long way from recognizing the truth. For self-love is nothing divine, it strives for earthly goods and can therefore never have redeeming power. The human being only becomes free when he puts his own ego aside and his actions and thoughts are only directed towards making his neighbour's earthly lot bearable, then his soul becomes free from its covering and it no longer regards earthly life as the most important thing but concerns itself with spiritual life, with life after death and its actual earthly task. The human being will always reject every spiritual truth as long as his soul has not yet broken through the shell around him. One is the consequence of the other, and anyone with realization will try in vain to break through the barriers in order to help his fellow human being, and yet he should not become discouraged, for God Himself will help where the human being's strength is insufficient. There is no other way to change such people's mind than through drastic changes which make them realize the futility of what they previously aspired to as important. And the coming time will bring this about so that many a person will become thoughtful if he pays attention to what is happening around him. He will see changes take place, he will see people pass away and his view of life will be strongly shaken. And he will be blessed who draws his conclusions from this, who does not pass it by thoughtlessly and remembers his true purpose .... to help all those who need help .... For these redeem themselves through the love they give to their fellow human beings, for they become seeing .... They enter into contact with the eternal deity, Who is love Itself, and now the scales fall from his eyes. God wants to help those people and therefore He sends them a little light so that the darkness of the spirit in them can be broken through. Yet people often flee from the bright light and remain in the darkness, which is part of God's adversary. And therefore the love of the fellow human being has to be prepared time and again to give them enlightenment, and every thought will be blessed which applies to such poor in spirit. Asking for their souls while they are still on earth will earn him the help of the beings in the beyond, for they will not let up in their endeavours and what talking cannot achieve can be achieved through faithful prayer .... All previous views can be shaken and the human being can be guided into a completely new way of thinking, and now the soul strives ceaselessly upwards. It is necessary that God Himself intervenes, because only that which seems quite strange and extraordinary is still given attention, for without a violent shaking of earthly life the human being's mind will hardly turn to spiritual problems. And therefore the soul is in greatest danger. But the moment will be dreadful, yet it is inevitable, for the gentle hints will not be heeded and the time on earth will pass and bring the soul neither redemption nor realization ....
