Fear of death - love of the world ....

As soon as a fear of death takes hold of the human being, the spirit has not yet become active in him, and thus the soul has not yet decided in his favour but still takes too much account of worldly pleasures. Thus the soul has not yet fulfilled its earthly task and this depresses it when it thinks of its near end. For unconsciously it feels that it will then have a limit. Through the direct connection with God knowledge can be imparted to the soul, but always only through the fellow human being, since its own spirit is not yet awakened. The human being can now make use of this imparted knowledge by endeavouring to live in accordance with divine requirements. Then he will soon be able to hear the voice within himself, the expression of the divine spirit in the human being, and from that moment on his state of soul will also lift, which will be noticeable through complete indifference towards earthly pleasures and enjoyments. Then man gladly gives away what belongs to the world .... then all fear of death is also invalid. For what he no longer considers desirable has lost its appeal and no longer binds man to this world. He who despises the world never has to fear the hour of death, he enters quietly and painlessly through the gate to eternity, he longs for his true home with its glory and understandably gives up everything for it. If therefore the fear of the hour of death still oppresses man, then he is not yet completely free of earthly desire, and this must first be overcome, man must turn more intimately to God, spend his life in active neighbourly love; he must pray often and intimately that God helps him to a peaceful hour of death, he must devote himself completely to God, entrust his needs and worries to Him in faith and then leave the future to Him. And the inclination towards the earthly will dwindle, the desire for the spiritual, on the other hand, will grow, and the anxiety before the hour of death will give way, for the human being will then mould himself as he should be in order to be able to enter into eternal life ....
