This is the blessing of spiritual work, that the human being remains connected to God and is constantly a recipient of strength from God. The human being must constantly seek God, he must join Him mentally through prayer of the heart and through loving activity, then he is continuously spiritually active for himself and for his fellow human beings, and then the strength from God also flows to him continuously. Spiritual work presupposes love for God and fellow human beings .... The human being recognises his own and his fellow human beings' shortcomings, he recognises God's perfection and tries to bridge the gap between people and God because he loves God and also his fellow human beings who languish in God's remoteness. And every work which is based on love is blessed by God, thus He always supplies the human being with strength so that he can also carry out his soul's work.

Never will the human being be without strength who unites himself with God in heartfelt prayer if this prayer is first meant for spiritual welfare, if the praying person wants to carry out the work for the kingdom of God and needs strength for this. But this supply of strength will also strengthen him for earthly work, it will make him able to meet every requirement, because spiritual work, work for the kingdom of God, always remains the actual activity and for this the human being never remains without strength.

If the human being wants to be spiritually active, i.e. contribute to the redemption of erring souls, then his life's fate will always be adapted to this work, i.e., everything that touches him earthly should spur him on to increased spiritual striving and let him mature his own soul so that he can work all the more successfully on his fellow human being's soul. He will often have to struggle on his earthly path, but he will always have the strength to do so, because he can only achieve victory through struggle.

And thus his earthly path will not be smooth and thornless. But there will always be a hand stretched out to him, guiding him over paths that are difficult to walk .... God's love will not let him stumble, time and again it will strengthen him and make him capable of any work he has to do on earth. And time and again it draws him to itself .... But he who remains united with God's love will not be powerless for ever, and everything he does God does through him ....
