The mystery of God's incarnation is such a difficult problem for earthly people that they can never be completely instructed unless they receive the explanation from the spirit of God Himself, so that it can certainly be understood by the recipient of spiritual messages but cannot be conveyed to fellow human beings in an understandable way ....

The human being Jesus was indeed born in a miraculous way and His birth was accompanied by supernatural appearances of all kinds. Nevertheless, the body was and remained earthly material for the time being; the soul originated from the kingdom of light and thus came into the world without sin, and consequently God was able to reveal Himself through this soul, He was able to work because nothing existed which would have opposed His working as an obstacle. Thus God and human being at the same time were present in the infant Jesus ..... Everything visible to the human eye was human, but He Who gave life to the child, Who attracted people and caused them to worship Him through His nearness, was God. The eternal Deity revealed Himself and was also recognised by those who were of good will, whose hearts were capable and willing to love and who therefore opened themselves to God's spirit to work in them.

At the time of Jesus' birth only people came close to Him who were led there by God's spirit, whom God Himself therefore honoured to behold the child, whom He approached through the child and in whom He also awakened the awareness of being close to God. But to someone other than such a person the child would only have appeared purely human, not different from other children, as it was also His earthly body. And this is also how people saw Him in His youth and in later years, for He did not obviously come forth with His divinity, with His being filled by the spirit of God, although He always united Himself more and more with God through His exemplary life of love, which also spiritualised His body and made it a receptacle of the divine spirit.

But it was the man Jesus Who had to shape Himself through loving activity into a worthy vessel for the Spirit of God, so that the latter could shelter in Him in all fullness and work through Him without limitation. That which spoke from Him, performed miracles and commanded even death, was God Himself, that which was visible to men was man ..... Faith in the divine mission of the man Jesus also allowed people to recognise God in Him, both as a child and in His years of teaching, where those who were of the same spirit recognised Him again, who therefore lived a life in accordance with divine will and therefore also opened themselves to His divine nature. For them it was without doubt that God Himself was hidden in Him and worked through Him.

However, the human external form also caused doubts in them from time to time, because they too were unable to grasp the mystery of God's incarnation and the complete union of God and man, just as it can never be completely clarified to people who are not spiritually awakened. They would certainly be able to grasp it with their soul but it can never be presented purely intellectually as it would be necessary for full understanding. But the divinity of the infant Jesus can and must never be denied, for He was worthy of the highest grace, that God concealed Himself in Him, that He revealed Himself to those who loved Him and lived according to His will.
