It is about solving such important problems for you humans, that all things have to be discussed, because everything is related to each other in a certain way.  Nothing that man does is unimportant, so the effect of it can be connected with the soul.  And so can something seem to be for the good of the people, or it can be trivial, humanly speaking, and yet be extremely serious for the development of the soul.  And just now all abuses degenerate in such a way that the soul is in extreme danger.  The survival of the soul is unscrupulously disregarded, only the earthly existence and it's improvement is always taken care of and thereby more and more damage is done to the soul.

It is a state which requires Divine intervention, and this can only happen in a way that will make people suddenly aware of the uselessness of their striving, that all success they have achieved so far with regard to earthly increase of goods, is invalid.  They must realize how impermanent and worthless everything is that has been their purpose in life so far, so that they tear their hearts away from it and strive for something that has lasting value - i.e., is imperishable.  Because every admonition to reduce the worldly striving and to turn all care to the soul is in vain, therefore only a powerful admonition and warning call can be successful .... and this is the only help which can still be offered to the soul.

And further also the spirit must be led to the recognition of those endeavors which inevitably lead to the complete decline of the human soul.  These are the irresponsible dispositions that affect everything concerning spiritual enlightenment .... and thus prevent the spirit from striving.  These decrees, which are of a quite different kind, have such an effect that man is more and more eager to comply with earthly requirements and neglects the soul in the same measure , that these decrees are directed against the requirements given to the soul for higher development .... that who follows these decrees, can never think of the soul to it's benefit.

Man is brought into an extremely dangerous situation that he should comply with the worldly decrees on the one hand, on the other hand he wants to listen to the voice of God and he now has to choose between the commandment of God and the commandment of man.  And this will oppress him extremely, if he still thinks of his soul at all.  And only the Lord Himself can help him in this trouble, and he must not lose this trust in Divine help, otherwise he may lack all protection in this time.  You will learn to understand these words when it is demanded of you, which puts you into greatest distress of heart, when you are weak in faith, but have not yet completely separated yourselves from God.

The fulfilling of these commandments will go completely against the teaching of Christ, a completely new moral teaching will form man's thinking even more, and man will be allowed that which has an extremely damaging effect on the soul.  And exactly the great misery of the soul causes God to make enormous changes in the present living-conditions, because then there is still hope that man may recognize the will of God and strives to fulfill it, while mankind only recognizes the will of the worldly rulers and fulfills their desire.

The danger lies especially in the fact that even those who still stand in faith, adopt legal concepts which go completely against God's sense of justice .... that even in them, the power of judgment is already weakened, that they are no longer able to recognize what is right and wrong, and they therefore positively adopt an action which the should have abhorred.  Such a person is now doubly fettered .... he must first fight against completely educated thinking before he can begin his actual soul-work.  And countless people are in this danger, whom God wants to help in an extraordinary way, so that they still would recognize their immature spiritual state, as long as they still stay on earth .....
