Lack of trust in God ....
Lack of faith ....

Only in the always constant mind which is turned to God, lies firmness of faith ..... It is inevitable that man will waver as his thoughts would move away from God.  Faith is always the result of a deep connection with Him, because the feeling of belonging together makes it impossible to waver.  The more intimately the heart beats towards the Divine Father, the stronger and more unshakable is the faith.  Therefore, the intimate relationship of the child to the Father, must never be disturbed.  For then Divine power can also reach man uninterruptedly, and this power expresses itself first in a strong faith and a joyful confession of faith to the fellow world and in a joyful affirmation of life.  His view is clarified, his train of thought is in accordance with the Divine will and all actions and omissions are likewise willed by God.

The child seeks the nearness of the Father, and this also earns him fullest rest and security, because all his thoughts are then rightly guided.  And every separation from Him will be noticeable to a person longing for God .... because once he was allowed to enjoy the security of the Father's heart, every state of separation from Him, will be felt as agony ..... He lacks security, persuasion and trust .... he lacks faith .... he is weak and without inner peace, because he lacks the closeness of the Father ....

And it is often the result of a lack of trust in God in earthly distress.  Every earthly need should be trustingly presented to the heavenly Father.  However, if man allows himself to be overwhelmed and, instead of joining God all the more intimately, loosens the bond that connects him to the Father in heaven, the strength will also become less and this will result in a weakness of faith.  You can achieve nothing without God .... With God, you survive every battle - without God, you will be defeated.

Earthly things separate you from God again and again, and yet this is your own fault, for God does not command your thoughts, therefore do not let them digress from Him and turn to other things, for this will not satisfy you - you will go along in constant restlessness until you have found your way back again .... Trust in God, is faith .... and a believing earthly child should not let itself be shaken by anything, it should unconditionally hand itself over to the heavenly Father, only then it will feel the power of deep faith in itself and accept all difficulties in life without worry, because they are always touchstones of faith, which must not bring the person to fall.
