Will to redeem ....
Troubling the Underworld ....

The will for spiritual redemption is the driving force of an orderly way of life according to the will of God, because the human being who recognizes his unfree state and desires to become free from it, will also decide to step into opposition against the force keeping him bound.  He now consciously does what does not correspond to the will of this force, and conversely will again enter into a serving relationship with God.  There is a quite pronounced clarity of thought in him, for the will towards spiritual redemption attracts spiritual power, which now clarifies man's thinking and thus the way to liberation can be clearly shown to him.

In the meantime, all auxiliary forces of the evil power will also try to prevent this striving for the height and will use all means for this purpose, because everything that escapes from them means for them a reduction, a diminishing of their power.  Everything spiritual, therefore, wanting to escape from them, is now oppressed by beings of the underworld, and this oppression triggers a feeling of fear, doubt and inner distress.  The purpose of the evil forces is that man should compensate for his oppressed condition by worldly thoughts and the fulfillment of worldly desires. ....

And then the enemy has won the game, because he now ties up the soul of man anew, and the loosening from his power becomes more and more difficult.  If, however, the earthly child in such distress sends his thoughts upward in the firm will to continue the struggle against this violence, the success is correspondingly greater, for the will of man is valued and strength and Divine grace are imparted to him from good spiritual quarters.  The spiritual turning point in the earthly life of man is always the moment of the most intimate contact with God .... because this is also at the same time the moment when the good spiritual power comes into action.  From now on, man no longer fights alone against his arch-enemy, but he can expect the greatest support, if his will has turned towards God.

But man must always reckon with the hostility of the adversary, who will put obstacles of all kinds in his way to hinder or complicate his ascent.  And this unmistakable influence of bad power must not let the will of man to free himself, slacken.  He has the antidote at hand .... intimate prayer to God for strength and grace ..... For such a prayer is heard by the Father in heaven, because love for Him and the will for unite with Him, makes the prayer rise up to Him .... because if the child asks for help from the Father, he can be sure of all help. ....
