Earthly need ....
Violent intervention ....

Without a violent intervention, conversion of mankind is no longer possible, because their thinking and striving is turned to a wrong goal and God's Spirit is therefore gagged, so that a recognition of the endangered situation is almost impossible.  By their own strength, therefore, they can no longer rise; they lie bound on the ground and need some help, and this can be offered to them only in such a way that the enlightenment comes to them in a flash, that they have walked the wrong way.  And for this purpose, people's thinking must be forcibly torn out of it's usual path - people must be confronted with forces they have not reckoned with so far, and they must be made aware what a helpless, powerless creature man is, when God withdraws His help from him.

They must inevitably come into a situation where they take refuge in prayer, so that they can then be offered noticeable help and find God in faith and trust, if they are only willing.  Because otherwise they do not return to faith, and God therefore tries to change human thinking in this way.  Only a situation which is hopeless from a human point of view, lets man think of a higher Being, if he has denied such thoughts so far.  However, in many cases even this world-shaking event will be unsuccessful in spiritual terms.  The completely hardened earthly man will not recognize any Divine providence in it, he will accept it without changing his attitude to God in the least .... he will, if he still acknowledges God, curse Him because of the apparent injustice, or deny the Divinity completely, and for these there is no other way of salvation, they are completely lost for eternal times .....

So in no way a compulsion is applied to the thinking of man, but they are only directed through extraordinary horrors and sufferings to the right thinking, and it is completely left to them to adjust themselves affirmatively or negatively to God - but the smallest will to God, earns them increased willpower, so that they can very well carry out the spiritual ascent, if only the thought of God becomes alive in them and they ask for and hope for strength from God.  The Lord pays attention to the slightest stirring of the heart and is ready with His gift of grace.  Thus, it is made easy for man to regain faith in God, but the horrors and sufferings must contribute to render man docile, because then the resistance against God is not as great as with a completely unbending, obdurate man who sees only himself and his earthly advantage threatened by Divine intervention and rebels against the Power that has such authority.

But God seeks especially to help those whose worship has been only form and who lack any inwardness.  He wants to help them to find the inner connection with the highest Being, He wants them to devote themselves to Him in all intimacy, that they prove their outwardly known faith anew by seeking refuge with Him, Whom they have not yet recognized properly.  He gives them the opportunity to experience inwardly and to put into practice what they have represented outwardly before; He wants to form their faith into a living one in order to let them get to know the power of such a faith.  He wants them to join their Father in heaven, Whom they have always called upon, but with empty words.

God wants to be called upon in spirit and in truth - and this misery on earth, will lead many people to turn to Him in spirit and in truth, Who alone can provide help.  And then the earthly misfortune will have become a blessing for them, because they have entered into contact with their Creator and He will now never let them go .... He guides their thoughts to the right knowledge and leads them through the night to the light ....
