Accepting and understanding the doctrine of redemption ....

It remains a futile attempt to explain the meaning of the act of Salvation to the world, for anyone who desires the world and only pays attention to it, who thinks and strives, will never have an understanding for something spiritual. The work of Salvation, however, is a purely spiritual matter, for it only touches the human being's soul life. The worldly person, however, pays little attention to his soul's life, he only has the body's well-being in mind and his entire striving is only aimed at increasing earthly goods and earthly enjoyment.

Trying to make him understand the value and meaning of the act of Salvation is unsuccessful because he also lives without faith. Worldly life and spiritual striving are completely separate. Worldly striving is the will turned towards God's adversary, spiritual striving testifies to the desire for God. God's adversary will never lead his followers to the divine Redeemer, rather he will do everything to keep the knowledge of the act of Salvation away from them, thus he will influence them to reject it. Only when the human being learns to despise the world and its goods will he occupy himself in thought with the divine Redeemer and come closer to the question of God's incarnation.

And it will always be faith in Jesus Christ where the world has lost its charm, where it appears to man as vain dazzle and is therefore despised. For the thought of redemption can only take hold in the human heart when this heart is free from earthly desire, when it seriously concerns itself with spiritual things, when the human being's state of soul worries him, thus he wants to bring help to the soul.

Only then will he understand the meaning of the act of Salvation, only then will he want to make use of the grace of the act of Salvation and consciously seek contact with the divine Redeemer, present all his sins to Him, ask Him for forgiveness of his guilt and commend himself to Him and His grace. Then he has turned away from God's adversary and his will consciously strives towards the divine Saviour and Redeemer ....

Amen
