There is no other path to the height than that of service. He who serves, therefore, develops to perfection; what is previously deficient and imperfect is brought into a progressive state through service, i.e. the being progresses upwards as long as it serves. The willingness to serve determines the being's degree of maturity. Now the being will always strive to become free and therefore also consciously want to serve because it thereby promises itself complete freedom.

If the being enters into a union with an external form which is of little use to humanity, then the serving function will not be overly occupied, which is of great disadvantage to the spiritual being in the external form. For every stay in the form should earn the being a certain degree of maturity. As soon as the form is needed, it also has a task to fulfil, it must therefore serve.

The serving state is a surrender of one's own will under the will of the other; and what is admitted to serve must also have, so to speak, declared its willingness to prove itself useful, otherwise no serving activity can be assigned to it. But there are also works of creation which seemingly have no mission to fulfil, and then the human being is easily inclined to believe that such works of creation never harbour the spiritual which is in higher development but are dead and spiritless, thus unlived by the divine spirit, unlived by God's great love. But this thought is completely erroneous, there is no work of creation which would be without spiritual life, just as there is no work of creation which would not have its purpose, even if it were still hidden from the human eye or not yet comprehensible to his intellect.

b. Every work of creation has its purpose, every work of creation is needed somehow. God's love, out of His wisdom, created all things for a serving activity. And nothing is without meaning and purpose, otherwise it would not be divine creation. Nothing came into being without a plan, and likewise nothing is useless. The smallest work of creation fulfils its mission, the tiniest living being its function, and everything is for the preservation of what God has created.

And if the human being understands this, if he can imagine everything created as a necessity, he will also understand the eternal Deity, i.e., His existence will become clear to him, thus he will begin to believe .... he will recognise God's omnipotence and wisdom and then also feel the omnipotent love, since every work of creation gives him evidence of it. God has to be acknowledged as the origin of the whole of creation, only then can the human being be guided into realisation, only then will he have an open ear and heart for the truth, for the teachings which God Himself gives to people, which are intended to enlighten him about what is outside of earthly life, about the human being's relationship to God, his task and his goal, about his outcome and his final return to God ....
