It will not be possible for any human being to discover the pure truth, for truth is something purely spiritual which cannot be fathomed intellectually. Truth is inseparable from the eternal Divinity and must therefore also be something unfathomable in itself, like the eternal Divinity itself. Through purely physical function, however, nothing spiritual can ever be fathomed, and a purely physical function is when the intellect alone wants to approach the solution of problematic questions which concern the great riddle of Creation or everything lying outside the earthly, when therefore man wants to eliminate God and solve such questions through sharp thinking.

The result of such research cannot correspond to truth, because truth is God, without God there cannot be truth. And because truth is something divine, it can only be offered by God Himself, and only to those who approach God for it, who request His help, His spirit for all research. God wants the truth to be spread, He also wants it to be given to those who still err, but then they must be willing to accept it .....

But those who live without God, who don't acknowledge Him and consequently don't believe they need the supply of strength, are still in contact with the power which fights against the truth. This power will try to determine the human being's will to reject the pure truth, and the person who lives without God will give in to its pressure and stubbornly oppose the pure truth with evidence which betrays precisely this sinister influence. Without God man cannot attain to the truth because he is then subject to the prince of lies whose endeavour is to undermine the truth.

Purely intellectual activity, however, corresponds to the human being's free will, i.e. it will produce results which correspond to the human being's will. Thus, if the human being researches purely intellectually, i.e. without entering into contact with good knowing powers through prayer to God, then his own will is active but not the divine will ..... However, one's own will is still in opposition to God, it is more in contact with the opposing force and is therefore also grasped and directed by this force towards that which is contrary to God.

Man cannot walk the right path without God, he will always err because his guides want to lead him astray, but it is completely up to him which power he chooses to lead. The human being himself is incapable of taking the right path without any guidance; he is incapable of fathoming the truth on his own, i.e. without the support of spiritual strength ..... However, he has the right to request spiritual strength and he has the free will to decide in favour of good or evil strength.

Even the belief that one does not need support is the influence of evil forces. It is the spiritual arrogance that is part of the evil power and through which he already grants this power the right over himself. Consequently, the human being can only be guided into truth when he consciously entrusts himself to the eternal Deity and, in awareness of his own spiritual poverty, calls upon good spiritual strength in order to be able to recognise the truth as such, if it is offered to him. ....
