BD 2055 2.9.1941 Humble Prayer Prerequisite for the Transmission of Knowledge .... Wise is he who thinks himself small and powerless and asks for God's help .... For grace will be granted to him and he will increase in light and knowledge. For the source of light is God, and if God is called upon for His grace the human being desires to draw from the source of knowledge, he desires the light, and thus God can distribute according to his desire. The human being has the privilege of being able to appeal to God for His grace at any hour, he may always come to the Father like a child and entrust himself to Him, and he will never appeal in vain as soon as he desires spiritual possessions. For God wants to impart the truth to people and only places the desire for it and prayer to Him as the only condition. And He does not set any limits, instead, truth and the knowledge of it is given to the human being without limit as long as he desires it. Yet humble prayer is always the prerequisite for divine grace to flow to the human being, which expresses itself in the transmission of the divine Word which introduces the human being to truth. Man must feel small and weak, only then will he humbly come to God and be worthy of divine grace. But he who persists in self-conceit is still very far from light and wisdom. And he will hardly become a bearer of light as long as he does not humble himself and change into a humble being. For only the humble will receive grace .... Amen
