The slightest resistance reduces the effect of the emanation of strength from God, because the fullest will is needed to be able to accept a gift from God, otherwise the supply of strength would be turned towards the being against its will and therefore mean higher development in compulsion. Only the vitality necessary for the preservation of the being also comes to every human being without his will, yet he can also leave this vitality unused for higher development, and thus he first has to let his will become active in order to utilise the vitality he receives. Weakness of will is a shortcoming for which the being itself is held responsible, for the strength to carry out its will is constantly supplied to it as long as the human being dwells on earth, thus what the human being wants he can also carry out if it applies to the transformation of his soul. For this only requires a life of love .... but every person can shape himself into love as soon as he has the will to do so. He can be good towards his fellow human beings, and that is all God requires of people as evidence of His love for Him. And in order to be good the human being only needs to want to, then he will also be able to do so, for God gives him the strength to do so by giving him life and sustaining it.

He demands nothing but love from people, for people emerged from love and, after an infinitely long time of separation from the One Who is love in Himself, they should return to Him again, and this they can only do through love. The emanation of strength from God is a giving of divine love, thus an act of grace which presupposes the ability and willingness to receive, for the emanation of love from God can only be given to those who prove themselves worthy of God's love, who desire it and thus open their hearts for the divine flow of love. Divine love does not deny itself to them, it gives itself to them in the Word, which is God's greatest proof of love for people and will remain so for all eternity ....
